Netballers Reach the Richmond Schools Semi Final

On Tuesday the 6th of December Hampton Academy took part in the bough netball tournament. Hampton were lucky enough to host the tournament and lots of schools from the surrounding area including; LEH, Teddington, Orleans Park School, Grey Court and Richmond Park Academy came to compete.

The competition was tough but Hampton Academy managed to win both their opening games against Orleans Park School and Grey Court, 5-2 and 2-0 respectively.

It was a freezing cold evening and we were struggling to keep warm but our excitement was keeping us going!! The word was in, we were through to the semi finals! The team played hard but unfortunately Teddington's shooting was exceptional! Hampton Academy lost the match 5-1.

All was not lost however! We were into the 3rd and 4th place playoffs in a match against LEH 'A'. I saw a superb effort from Hampton Academy the marking was second to none and the team continued to create opportunities on the attack. Sophie Berry, later named Hampton Academy's player of the tournament, notched up another two goals but alas it wasn't enough, the final score... Hampton Academy 2 - LEH 4.

Over all we were placed 4th, not too shoddy considering the amount of teams and the strength of the competition! I couldn't be prouder of the year 9 netball team!
