Congratulations to Hampton Academy! This week Hampton Academy celebrated as we became one of the first Richmond schools to be affiliated to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Hampton Academy joined the national network of schools affiliated to the London 2012 education programme 'Get Set'. Hampton Academy have committed to living the Olympic and Paralympic values, and will promote the values in student life. This prestigious honour will give our school some fantastic opportunities to get involved in the build up to the 2012 games including online teacher resources, student led projects, creating our own Olympic legacy and chances to host Olympic athletes at school events. The Richmond School Sports Partnership 2012 coordinator Jimmy Giblin, will be leading on school Olympic projects in the approach to the games. Hampton Academy have nominated two Olympic Ambassadors that will join the Richmond Olympic Committee to begin projects in school to inspire students and engage local communities. Joining the 'Get Set' network will raise the profile of our school to a national level and we now have exclusive use of the Olympic education branding. |
